We seek a technically competent, driven engineering lead to join a newly formed presales team and support our continued growth. As the lead you will be responsible for the Infrastructure Solutions engineering team of technical experts (electrical, mechanical, structural, architectural) during the early engagement phases of customer programs to bring together schematic design for Data center (Hyperscale, Enterprise, Colocation, Edge, CLS) and Critical Infrastructure facilities.
The ability to provide high-quality comprehensive system level solutions to meet our customers needs, as well as exceptional leadership skills and an outgoing personality are key to success in this role.
What To Expect As Your Primary Responsibilities Leading a team of engineers, including but not limited to architect, structural, HVAC, electrical, developing early-stage design and proposal for the IS projects (modular data centers, power rooms, cable landing stations)Reading and understanding RFP and tender documentsReading and understanding customer requirements provided by sales teamUnderstanding of relevant codes and standards for data centers and electrical power roomsCoordination between technical disciplines (architectural, structural, electrical, HVAC, controls, fire protection)Technical project coordination with customers and suppliersMaking technical proposals for Vertiv modular solutions data centersProblem solving and interpretation of customer requirements in proposed solutionsTechnical project coordination within various Vertiv teamsVerification of documents created by team membersProvide sales technical assistance and support information to assist with the sales activityOccasional customer site visitsOccasional international travel for customer meetings, seminars and trainingQUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering7-10 years' experienceProficient in data center design, knowledge of the data center supporting systems, functionality and architectureSolution-based thinking that will incorporate a multitude of Mechanical and Electrical components to an end-customer deploymentSolid communication skills, both written and oral, to work across multiple Engineering and Manufacturing teams to bring architectures and concepts to design and deploymentCustomer interaction to transition thoughts and concepts into solutions and delivering that interaction through documented specificationsLeadership skillsSoft Skills: time management, internal and external customer interaction, and self-motivationPC skills: Active user of Windows, MS Office incl.
