As Engineering Technical Lead for the Internal Digital Capability team; you will work closely with your Manager to oversee the daily activities of a team of Java Developers (supporting shared services and capability functions) to drive the efficient technical direction of the team; ensuring smooth progression and completion of projects within budget, agreed timelines; (aligning with the bank's key standards of excellence and governance). The Engineering Tech Lead will work closely with Digital Capability management, (and collaborate with IT and business functions), to successfully schedule and support the delivery of new digital capabilities/functionality; finding ways of executing key tasks both expertly and efficiently. They will provide their team with essential support to perform their duties satisfactorily while embracing positive change; encouraging team innovation and continuous improvement. Helping to streamline processes to aid the smooth delivery of new or upgraded shared services and capabilities; they will drive positive contributions; ensuring their team reaches its full potential. Responsibilities: Gain credibility and establish excellent relationships with key business stakeholders. Maintain a positive and favourable approach to change. Oversee daily activities of your team of Java Developers; ensuring they work efficiently; both individually and collectively. Drive technical decisions/direction for the Digital Capability team. Identify and control risks in advance and make suggestions to the team about how to mitigate against risks. Maintain awareness of all compliance, regulatory and legal directives and support development of approaches to minimise risk and potential damage to our reputation. Essential Requirements: Time Management; to successfully schedule tasks and find ways of executing expertly and efficiently (according to importance or deadline). Comfortable working closely with Management and cross-functional teams within the bank to achieve desired outcomes. Possessing the ability to forge successful relationships and work collaboratively with key senior internal and external stakeholders. Possesses superior multi-tasking and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise maintaining a focus on driving towards a positive outcome. Risk control and mitigation; comfortable with conflict management with ability to perform under pressure. Responsible for the team's output and ensure team understands their objectives and are conversant with tooling/systems to perform their daily tasks.
