Environment Health & Safety Specialist Join an exciting opportunity as an Environment, Health, and Safety Specialist.

As a crucial member of our client's site EHS team, you will play a key role in providing support, guidance, and expertise to your assigned area, ensuring strict adherence to environmental and safety requirements.

The successful candidate will exhibit a high level of initiative, energy, and motivation, coupled with excellent organizational skills. Proficiency in communication, both written and verbal, is essential, along with proficiency in MS Office.

Your responsibilities include analyzing and inspecting work environments and procedures to guarantee compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations. Designing preventive programs to safeguard workers and the environment, collaborating with management to institute controls for hazardous conditions, and conducting safety training are integral parts of your role. With minimal work direction needed, your expertise will be pivotal in promoting a culture of EHS excellence and providing high-quality EHS leadership to assigned business areas.

Primary Responsibilities

• Support site environmental and safety programs, manage change, investigate incidents, ensure EHS standards compliance, and conduct audits.

• Provide compliance/technical support and advice on new processes and equipment.

• Timely response to stakeholder EHS requests, creation, and maintenance of databases containing pertinent EHS data.

• Conduct assessments and directing follow-up activities.

• Promotes culture of EHS excellence in and provides high-quality EHS leadership to assigned business areas.

• Assist in the timely response to external and internal stakeholder Environment, Health and Safety requests and recommendations.

• Engage in walkdowns and reviews to ensure conformance with Site, Corporate and/or Statutory EHS requirements.

• Creates and maintains databases & records containing pertinent Environmental, Health and Safety data and metrics.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science, with a preference for a Health & Safety-related technical discipline.

• 5 years +' EHS experience in an operational environment is required.

• Proven track record of influencing others, possess strong knowledge of EHS programs, and excel as a convincing communicator with robust interpersonal skills. Ideally, you are a self-directed individual with technical prowess, capable of thriving in a multi-functional team environment.
