Our Client, a leading medical device Company based in Limerick are seeking an Environmental, Sustainability, Health and Safety Officer.
This role is pivotal in ensuring that the operations adhere to the highest standards of environmental sustainability, health, and safety.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining compliance with environmental regulations, implementing sustainability initiatives, and fostering a safe working environment.
Please note: This is an onsite role with no Hybrid work option Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Conduct risk assessments and implement controls to mitigate workplace hazards.
Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Provide training to employees on health and safety practices and procedures.
Investigate accidents and incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date on changes to environmental, sustainability, and health and safety regulations.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies' requirements.
Maintain records and documentation related to environmental permits, safety inspections, and training.
Develop and implement programs to minimize environmental impact, including waste reduction & pollution prevention Conduct environmental audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure regulatory compliance.
Identify opportunities for energy efficiency, renewable energy, and other sustainable practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote sustainability initiatives and engage employees in environmental stewardship.
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field.
2+ years of experience in environmental, sustainability, and health and safety roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data and metrics related to ES&HS performance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Experience with ISO 14001 management systems is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to drive change and implement sustainable practices within an organisation.
