The Address Cork  is hiring an  Events Manager —an exciting opportunity where you will report to  General Manager and Director of Revenue & Brand.
In this role you will be  responsible for the development, performance and delivery of all business hospitality and events for the organisation to produce an effective and efficient service and delivery solution, meeting agreed quality control standards and criteria, achieving targets, maximising overall performance and adhering to budget.
Knowledge: 1.
To be fully aware of The Hotels products and services and those of the competitive set locally and nationally.
2.
Understand hotel pricing structure and be familiar with current rates in the market.
3.
Understand of hotel seasonality, need periods and periods of high demand.
4.
Develop and understanding of competitor analysis of the market.
5.
Develop and understanding marketing and social media communications of the events and weddings.
6.
Ability to work on own initiative.
Key responsibilities:   1.
Manage the development, maintenance, performance and delivery of the business hospitality and events services for the hotel to produce an efficient and effective service and delivery solution, meeting agreed quality control standards and criteria, achieving targets, maximising overall performance and adhering to budget.
2.
Ensuring that the business hospitality and events team understands its duties and its role within the hotel.
3.
Responsibility to adhere to agreed criteria, targets, and budgets, meet your targets and those of the team and hotel.
4.
The smooth running of the of the function and hotel as a whole with meeting, events and weddings.
5.
Meet prospective clients for show-arounds for weddings, private and corporate functions.
6.
Ensure a prompt and professional response and follow-up to sales enquiries.
7.
Generate quotations for prospective bookings and timely follow-ups.
8.
Liaise with clients in relation to coordinating the intricate details of their meetings, weddings, and events.
9.
Monitor, co-ordinate and communicate event bookings, ensuring accuracy of billing and information, maintaining up to date profiles, and recording client feedback post event.
10.
Generate sufficient information for invoicing of events.
11.
Contribute to training and development of the team.
12.
Assist line manager in achieving maximum customer satisfaction (for those using business hospitality weddings, and attending events) 13.
Manage, direct and monitor business hospitality and events activities and the overall performance of the team to agreed criteria, targets and budgets.
14.
To maximise revenue and guest satisfaction by ensuring the accurate and effective processing of conference bookings and private functions through effective key account management.
15.
Up-sell products and services throughout the meeting, wedding and event process to maximise revenue.
16.
Creative input to develop business hospitality and events for the hotel.
17.
Effective negotiation to obtain best value and prices from suppliers when required.
18.
Increase efficiency and maximise performance and value.
19.
Effective liaison, support and assistance with suppliers, customers, and the whole of the o rga nisation.
20.
Utilise agreed systems to manage meeting, events, weddings, and associated documentation.
21.
Direct the development of plans for business hospitality, weddings, and events to achieve criteria and targets.
22.
Developing plans for future progress of meeting, events, and weddings.
23.
Support to all other departments within meeting, events, and weddings and related issues.
24.
Reporting (content and format as agreed) on a weekly and monthly basis or as otherwise required.
25.
Assist in developing plans f¢ir activities to include strategy to achieve agreed targets.
26.
Assist in promotional and marketing activities as required.
27.
Development of brochures and sales/promotional materials as required.
28.
Assist with updates and postings to Social Media sites.
29.
Attend workshops, exhibitions and promotional events where required.
30.
Work closely with other members of the events team.
Provide support and leadership to relevant team members.
31.
You are responsible for your allocated workload and must meet all targets as agreed with your Line Manager.
You must contribute towards the smooth running of the organisation generally.
32.
Maintain responsibility for performing all duties in compliance with related legal/statutory, regulations, professional duties, responsibilities, and obligations and insert as applicable.
planning and pricing of hospitality and events, promotion, preparation, and management of events to adhere to agreed prices/budgets; maintain applicable quality standards and records; maintain responsibility for ordering and obtaining supplies and quality control.
Brand Standards:   1.
To ensure all printed material, advertising and promotions are approved by the General Manager and the Director of Revenue and Brand before issuing.
2.
To ensure that all branded materially used in the hotel or circulated from the hotel is in line with brand standards.
3.
To promote all marketing initiatives where appropriate.
4.
To ensure that the agreed level of branded stock is to hand, and all hotel publicity material is monitored.
Quality & Customer Service:   1.
To work with the hotel team to ensure new & existing companies are looked after, ensuring they receive excellent service to grow a loyal relationship with the customers.
2.
To deal with any queries or complaints that may arise in a professional and efficient manner, making sure to notify the relevant manager of any problems that have occurred.
Communication, Teamwork & Leadership:   1.
To attend weekly/monthly sales meetings & regular meetings with the management team as requested.
2.
To lead by example, specifically with regard to personal presentation, punctuality, attendance, application to work, team work and customer care.
3.
To be flexible with regard to working hours, travel and place of work 4.
To be conscious of expenditure in relation to travel, accommodation etc, and to find the best value when possible.
The job holder will also:     Observe and adhere to the companies' policies and procedures, undergoing relevant training and development to fulfill the requirements of the hotel and the post.
