Main Contracting Services DepartmentThe Main Contracting Services Department represents the Civil Engineering and Contractors Association (CECA), Master Builders and Contracting Association (MBCA) and general contracting members of the CIF.
The department provides information and assistance on procurement and contractual matters including prequalification, tendering, contract issues and disputes.The CIF is seeking to recruit an Executive to support the provision of these services in the Main Contracting team.
About the roleThis role is based in the Dublin office.
The successful individual will report to and provide executive support to the Director of Main Contracting Services and work as part of a small specialised team.
Key Responsibilities· Assist the Director across a range of policy areas and committees including project support for the CECA, MBCA and CIF policy subcommittees.
· Liaise and coordinate Main Contracting policy and business requirements between CIF policy committees
· Coordinate the promotion of main contracting with all other Federation teams in support of the Federation's purpose of being the voice of the Irish construction industry.
· Carry out surveys, desktop studies and research projects relevant to main contractors.
· Responsible for the development of contracting policy and guidance publications
· Present findings of contracting research and analysis at committees and association meetings.
· Represent Main Contracting members in internal CIF policy committees, conferences and on relevant external industry committees/forums as required.
· Identify and develop programmes of work with the CIF's corporate partners on general business matters of interest to main contractors.
· Event manage webinars, buyer events, CPD and main contracting activities.
· Meet and maintain member networks and relationships relevant to main contractors.
· Maintain web-content for the MBCA, CECA and Contracting Resource Hub Webpages
· Support CIF and association meetings, business and social events, including the CECA and MBCA annual dinners and bi-annual CECA Awards.
· Support the delivery of the CIF's strategy, other services and business processes, people and technology improvements.
· Provide technical support and work cross functionally with other CIF team members.
About the personIdeally Candidates should have: · 2 – 3 years' experience working in either a project, policy, research and support role within either a construction, engineering, surveying, business or a representative environment.
· A third level qualification in a construction or business related discipline.
· The ability to build relationships with CIF members and other industry stakeholders.
· Experience in research and report writing.
· Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
· Strong presentation and public speaking skills alongside excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· The ability to work independently and manage and prioritise their workload.
· Excellent team player.
· Flexibility to adapt to the strategic nature of the industry and its impact on CIF operations.
