LEAD FACILITIES ENGINEER We are seeking an experienced Facilities Manager or Facilities Engineer who is ambitious and committed to maintaining optimal operations across all client sites. This key role focuses on meeting net zero carbon targets, ensuring sustainability while maintaining facility integrity. The ideal candidate will oversee the design and execution of plant-based structural and industrial engineering projects, playing a crucial role in achieving our environmental objectives and enhancing overall site performance. Job Purpose The Industrial/Facilities Engineer will be responsible for the design and execution of all plant based structural and industrial engineering works at our clients HQ. Key Accountabilities Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all buildings and groundworks inc. property and land management of the client's estate -boundaries, remote company locations and point of contact for 3rd parties. Project lead facility projects (driven by site risk responsibilities) by undertaking technical and feasibility studies and site inspections of utilities and current and new projects. Vendor management; Co-ordinate with external contractors and service providers for facility maintenance, repairs, and projects. Negotiate contracts and manage service agreements and relationships to optimise quality, delivery and cost savings. Review and confirm compliance with building regulations, fire compliance & ATEX compliance on all facility related project activity on site at the end of each project. Generate and present regular reports and reviews of facility-related budgets, finances, contracts, expenditures, and purchases. Conduct and document regular site inspections based on structural, fire, water and energy supply assets. Oversight of facilities/utilities preventative maintenance program Assisting Design teams on development of site-specific Facility/Utility equipment/processes as required. Act as the Project Engineer and/or Project Sponsor for minor and major facilities projects such as re-roofing, flooring replacements, remodelling and expansions. Ensuring that the design and maintenance of building systems meets legislative and health and safety requirements. Communication and Working Relationship The Industrial/Facilities Engineer will report to the Engineering manager, but they will have working relationships with all teams at HQ, contractors, and external parties on site. Dimensions and Decision Making The Industrial/Facilities Engineer will recommend best practice solutions to the Engineering manager for sign off. They will manage a budget and has the authority to stop any work on site which they deem to be unsafe or cause risk/harm to any employee or 3rd party on site. Proven experience working in a similar role and similar environment Specific work experience required to essentially fulfil the role Working knowledge of principles and practices of business administration, procurement, and contracts. Demonstrable health, safety, and environmental knowledge and best practices in a manufacturing setting, with the ability to enforce these practices rigorously. Experience in Industrial maintenance and engineering and all facets of large-scale industrial operations Demonstrable negotiating, supervisory and leadership skills. Excellent planning and organisational skills Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, safety, and environmental departments.
