My client, a national energy authority, is expanding its team and seeking to hire a Finance Research Program Executive. This role is with a public sector organisation based in Dublin 2.
The position offers a competitive salary, hybrid working options, and 29 days of annual leave. Candidates should be available to start immediately, as this is a 12-month contract with a strong possibility of extension or permanency.
Roles and Responsibilities:Process applications for funding to point of decision in a timely and efficient manner ensuring compliance with scheme guidelines.Manage timely issue of Grant Agreements and Amendments to successful applicants.Advise client companies on SEAI grant claim procedures and assist in meeting requirements.Review requests for grant payment to ensure sufficient financial documentation has been provided and all grant conditions are complied with prior to payment.Facilitate on site financial documentation verification.Support the efficient implementation of a new Grant management system.Develop reports and indicators to ensure quality and timeliness of all aspects of grant management.Assist in the updating of application guidelines and scheme terms and conditions to ensure that appropriate levels of compliance are in place.Input into the development of new programmes.Present at workshops for grant applicants on the financial and documentation requirement for successful drawdown of funds.Coordination and preparation of research sponsor financial claims and related follow-up queries.Ongoing liaison with programme teams and resolution of financial issues on their research grants.Maintenance of research grant files to an acceptable audit standard.Assisting with application budgets.Income and banking management.Knowledge & Skills:Strong organisational skills.Excellent written and oral communication skills.A capacity to build positive working relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders.Strong proactive project management approach to achieving results and demonstrated ability to deliver projects end to end.Good numeracy skills, a strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.Ability to multitask, manage competing demands and work effectively to deadlines.The ability to work on own initiative and display sound judgement.Essential Requirements:A degree (minimum of NFQ Level 7 or greater) in a relevant discipline such as Business, Finance, or Accounting.Must be immediately available.A minimum of three years' directly relevant experience working in research grants administration, grant management or finance function.Experience of ensuring compliance with financial controls and procedures.Experience building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Strong written and verbal communication skills including report writing, presenting and public speaking, and the ability to break down financial information.Well-developed IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).Desirable:Knowledge/Experience of working in the public sector.Knowledge/Experience of EU funded research grants administration.Strong project management and organisational skills.Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.Analytical in approach to work and a proven ability to provide practical advice in a commercial context.To hear more or for a confidential discussion please contact Hannah Somers on 016146182 or ******.
