As part of our ongoing development, we are seeking an operationally focused Financial Accountant to join our HID Global Finance team located at our EMEA Centre of Excellence, Galway. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will ensure our financial reporting is effective and aligns with business objectives. This business is poised for rapid global growth, both organically and by acquisition.

As our Financial Accountant, you'll support HID's success by: Supporting the monthly and quarterly financial reporting cycle, ensuring it is completed in a timely, accurate and efficient manner in accordance with IFRS.Preparing, analyzing and posting journals.Calculating, posting, and analyzing monthly accruals and prepayments.Preparing and analyzing balance sheet reconciliations at month end.Reviewing and reconciling inter-company accounts, involving communication with other HID Global business units.Preparing multi-currency bank reconciliations.Preparing related variance analysis.Assisting with or leading other ad hoc projects as required.Assisting with the integration of new acquisitions.Supporting external audit for periodic year-end review procedures and local statutory audits.Providing input on local finance policies and procedures ensuring ongoing compliance for all accounting and finance operations.Participating in ongoing policy and control environment development to ensure compliance with applicable internal control regulations.Inputting and deployment of new and existing processes and systems to ensure efficient delivery of value-add information to both internal and external stakeholders.Being an effective team player who will drive efficiency and continuous improvement throughout the department.What we will love about your background: Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.Fluency in a European language an advantage.Highly proficient with MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint).Experience of ERP systems - Oracle an advantage.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Team player who thrives in working both cross-functionally and globally.Naturally curious and inquisitive.Energetic and analytical with a positive approach to problem solving.High level of personal and professional integrity and confidentiality.Your Experience and Education include: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.Recognised professional qualification e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA.1-3 years of experience gained in an international company/multi-cultural environment.Experience of statutory accounting and VAT in other European countries an advantage.Why apply?
