Financial Accountant

Our client, an Irish entity of a global insurer, is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their Dublin City Centre based team.
The Financial Accountant will be a key member of the Finance department, supporting the management of international contracts and working closely with the Finance Manager and Chief Financial Officer.

Your Role Collaborate with finance team members to incorporate international contracts into consolidated financial results, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.Analyse, review, and control assigned international contracts monthly, providing detailed insights and performance commentary.Manage the onboarding process for new international contracts, ensuring all systems, processes, and data flows are set up correctly.Assess profitability and oversee internal controls for international contracts, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.Establish and maintain thorough audit trails for assigned contracts to ensure transparency and regulatory compliance.Engage with external stakeholders, including brokers and claims handlers, to obtain and manage essential financial data related to international contracts.Develop strong relationships with key commercial departments.Assist back-office and assistant accountants with financial reporting, reconciliations, and updating control schedules.Drive improvements in finance systems, processes, and controls related to international contract management.Take on ad hoc projects and tasks as directed by the Finance Manager or CFO.Your Skills Fully qualified accountant with experience in financial reporting, accounts preparation, and control.Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, with strong numerical skills and attention to detail.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong track record in stakeholder management.Ability to work independently, proactively solve problems, and meet tight deadlines.Strong analytical skills and a capacity to learn quickly.Background in insurance or reinsurance.Experience with SAP reporting systems.If this opportunity is of interest to you, please send your CV to Aoife Davis at Abrivia.
