Financial Controller

We are delighted to be partnering with a leading Irish hotel in Dublin City Centre.
As the Financial Controller you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations of the hotel.
This position requires a strategic thinker who can manage financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, ensuring the financial health and compliance of the hotel.
You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, developing financial policies, and leading a team to achieve the hotel's financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee daily financial operations and ensure compliance with hotel policies and accounting principles.
Prepare and review monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Manage cash flow, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.
Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures.
Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to ensure realistic and achievable budgets.
Prepare financial forecasts and analyse variances between actuals and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations.
Generate comprehensive financial reports and presentations for the General Manager and ownership.
Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.
Conduct periodic audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with policies.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure a collaborative approach to financial management.
Assist the General Manager in developing long-term financial strategies and business plans.
Provide financial insights and support for business development initiatives and capital projects.
Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the hospitality industry.
Strong understanding of hotel accounting principles and practices beneficial.
Proficiency in financial management software and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Proven leadership abilities and experience managing a finance team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
