JOB PURPOSE
The role exists to manage all aspects of financial control, reporting and analysis for the site Profit & Loss & Balance Sheet. This requires a full understanding of all aspects of the business and the issues affecting it, and participation as a key member of the site management team. Timely and accurate reporting, analysis and forecasting must be provided for local and Business Unit (BU) management.
Financial Controller is responsible for all financial control at the Sligo site (100 FTEs €30M revenue). The position has three direct reports and is a Senior Leadership role, part of the plant management team.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES 1. Business Partnering Participate as a key member of the Management Team in the analysis and formulation of solutions to strategic oriented issues, support productivity improvements, and use your experience and skills to drive the business.Simplify the Finance Technology Landscape.Develop Costing Systems.Perform profitability analysis by customer, product code on quarterly basis and provide essential information to the leadership team.Identify data requirements across all departments and deploy business intelligence tools to meet these requirements.2. Compliance & Reporting Ensure that all transactions entered into by the business are completely and accurately accounted for, recorded, and reported.Assume ultimate responsibility for the timely delivery and accurate preparation of annual Budgets, Monthly Forecasts, Monthly and Annual accounts and all associated working papers and reports in accordance with statutory, fiscal, and legal requirements and in compliance with group guidelines.Co-ordinate the preparation of Site capital expenditure proposals as per Group policy. Ensure that adequate controls exist to safeguard the assets of the business and to ensure all liabilities incurred are approved in line with SOX rules.The above list is not exhaustive but represents the main responsibilities expected of the role holder. It should be noted that as well as the management aspects there is a significant amount of hands-on work in producing financial results and other outputs. In addition to the above the role holder will be expected to undertake all reasonable tasks necessary to support other departments in the organisation.3. Major Challenges & Complexities
The business operates in a dynamic environment which requires the Financial Controller to effectively prioritise and manage multiple demands for multiple stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS 1. Formal Qualifications and Experience Professional Accounting Qualification.Proven record of manufacturing experience in Financial Controlling function or relevant experience in a similar role.Experience of commercial and operational / manufacturing challenges.Excellent systems and controls development and implementation experience.A high degree of computer literacy, good working knowledge of standard Microsoft applications especially of Excel. Experience of Sage 1000 ERP and Crystal reports highly desirable.2. Specific Skills and Abilities Ability to function within a matrix organization.Strong Team Player & talented team leader.Soft Skills, such as critical thinking, negotiation skills, collaboration & relationship building Skills, planning for overall profitability.Good communication and people skills.Result oriented and action minded.3. Good business judgment/commercial acumen Analytical and accurate, a logical thinker capable of decision making.Self-motivated, a strong team player, but able to work independently and on their own initiative.Willingness to travel to other Amcor sites in AFEMEA occasionally for Functional meetings.
