This is an exciting and unique opportunity for a passionate and hard-working individual to join our stunning property which the Michelin Guide has most recently awarded 3 Michelin Keys. 

Reporting directly to the General Manager, this position is solely responsible for the leadership and smooth running of our Food & Beverage operations across our hotel.
This is a permanent position, working 5 days over 7 days, approximately 45 hours per week. 

The main purpose of the job is to ensure that all guests receive the highest possible standard of service at all times when both lounging and dining at Ballyfin, ensuring the guest experience is seamless in terms of quality, timing, professionalism and friendliness.

Main Duties: (Include but are not limited to): Oversee the day-to-day operations of Food & Beverage Department including breakfast, lunch, dinner, cellar bar, room service and lounge areas ensuring they are adequately staffed and supervised and ensure a high standard of service is delivered at all times Create weekly staffing rosters to ensure the department is adequately staffed in line with business levels whilst also ensuring you manage your payroll costs Work closely with the Executive Head Chef and guests (where applicable) on menu planning and development of F&B events for clients Develop and maintain the wine cellar for the hotel in conjunction with the Sommelier Ensure inventory stock takes are carried out and all stock including wines, beverages and equipment are controlled Work closely with Senior Management in achieving required targets in relation to payroll and Gross Profit percentages Actively be a part of service to deliver the best guest experience and to lead your team to do the same Observe the service quality of staff members and make suggestions on how they can improve their interactions with guests to ensure five-star guest satisfaction Responsible for the effective management of all members of the Food and Beverage Team including conducting regular performance check-in's and annual performance reviews Ensure you proactively create good working relationships with your team members and peers, promoting a positive employee culture and work environment at all times.
Ensure effective communication at all times. Work closely with your team members, act as a mentor and coach and take a collaborative and proactive approach to team training and development.
Proactively create training & development and succession plans for each individual team member in conjunction with the HR Manager. Proactively address any employee related issues such as poor performance, attendance, attitude etc.
Actively engage with the HR Manager to ensure the correct procedures are followed and to ensure compliance with all employment legislation
