Position Overview The General Foreman plays a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating construction activities on- site.
With a focus on efficiency, safety, and adherence to established standards and schedules, this role ensures successful project execution.
Responsibilities Site Management Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities on-site.
Ensure adherence to project specifications, plans, and quality standards.
Team Leadership Lead and motivate on-site construction teams, including subcontractors and laborers.
Provide clear direction, set expectations, and cultivate a collaborative and safety-conscious work environment.
Schedule and Resource Management Collaborate with the project manager to develop and implement project schedules.
Efficiently manage on-site resources to meet project milestones and deadlines.
Safety Compliance Uphold and promote a robust safety culture on-site.
Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Quality Control Implement and uphold quality control measures to meet or surpass industry standards.
Conduct routine inspections and address any quality-related issues promptly.
Communication Facilitate transparent communication between on-site teams, subcontractors, and project managers.
Provide timely progress reports, raise concerns, and communicate issues to project management.
Qualifications Proven experience as a General Foreman in civil engineering or construction projects, with utilities experience preferred.
Thorough understanding of construction processes, safety regulations, and quality control standards.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications.
