Due to Euroforest Ireland's continued growth, we have a vacancy in the following role:
We are looking for a committed worker with a keen interest in forestry.
Forest Manager Responsibilities include:Professional forest managementRecruitment of new forest owners to the services we provideSupervision of harvesting and other forest operationsOrganising both harvesting and daily transport activityFelling Licence and forest road grant application reviewAdvising owners on best forest practice and maximising financial returns, particularly in relation to harvesting and managing semi mature plantationsMaintaining inventory and financial data on bespoke management systemsReporting on progress at weekly team meetingsMarketing – servicing supply contracts to customersCosting & pricing of harvesting & management operationsMaintaining industry standards on health and safety and environmental managementA strong appreciation of commercial forestryMotivated and highly organised, agile and adaptable to changeAn ability to work on own initiativeExcellent planning and project management abilitiesExcellent interpersonal skillsFull driving licenceExcellent IT skillsAbility to exercise good judgment with minimal supervisionExcellent verbal and written communication skillsA recognised qualification in forestry at level 7/8 on the QQI Framework of qualifications or equivalentA knowledge of all Forest Service forestry schemesA knowledge of all paperwork associated with the Department for LandownersA knowledge or experience of harvesting and marketing of timberRemunerationSalary commensurate with experience, plus phone, laptop and transport.
