Main purpose of the role:
Ensure the store's fresh food departments operate efficiently and effectively and provide our customers with the very best customer service and fresh food offering at all times.
The ideal candidate will have/be:
- 3 years' experience in a Fresh Food Department
- Previous management experience is an advantage
- Excellent communication skills
- Good delegation skills
- An understanding of how to achieve KPIs and targets
- Passion for fresh food.
Main duties:

- Oversee and ensure the smooth running of the fresh departments by prioritising and delegating the workload appropriately
- Set, monitor and achieve sales targets with the team on gross profit margin, net margin, waste and other KPIs as agreed with Store Manager
- Control stocktaking and overheads as per fresh budget
- Foster good working relationships among the team
- Hold regular fresh food meetings and communicate relevant details and results to the team
- Manage employee performance, giving regular feedback, recognition and encouragement
- Deal with all customer queries efficiently, professionally and consistent with store policy
- Manage employee rostering and annual leave for fresh departments
- Ensure merchandising and presentation of the fresh department is of the highest standard at all times and in accordance with relevant store planograms and guidelines.

Direct Reports: All employees within the Provisions and Dairy Departments
Perform any other duties or assume any other responsibilities that may be assigned to you from time to time. These may be outside of your normal area of work. Furthermore, you may be assigned to work in other areas within the Store on either a temporary or permanent basis.
