Job Overview: Responsible for all aspects of the Front Office Department including but not limited to operations, planning, budgeting, staffing and payroll in accordance with Hotel Policies and Procedures. You will provide leadership and support to all members of the Reception Team, implement and enforce the Hotel Standards of Excellence in all areas within your remit.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Efficient and professional operation of all Reception team members.
Visible in the front of house during busy times to assist the front desk team and to ensure smooth guest service.
Ensures all team members are trained on technical and service aspects of their position.
Ensure all team members clearly understand their job roles, responsibilities and performance expectations.
Ensure good communication between all departments and the reception team to better serve our guests.
Manage and monitor activities of all employees in the department making sure they adhere to the standards of excellence and to the guidelines set out in the employee guidebook, hotel policies and procedures, coaching training and correcting where needed.
Maintain a professional and high quality service oriented environment at all times.
Act as a manager on duty for the hotel, dealing with complaints, problem solving, disturbances, special requests and any other issues that may arise.
Inform all Reception staff of daily activities, group and VIP arrivals as well as special requests and repeat guests. Check accommodations, making sure any special requests are carried out accordingly, greet guests upon arrival and ensure escorts to accommodation if appropriate.
Supervise and upsell at the Front desk and work with the management team to try to maximise revenue for the hotel.
Work closely with the housekeeping department to improve guest services and foster cross departmental communication.
Coordinate daily activities with the management team on a daily basis.
Ensure staff are fully trained in emergency procedures.
Skills/Experience to include but are not limited to: Excellent high standards of customer service and shall be flexible with regards to working hours.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality in relation to all aspects of business.
Working knowledge of all Front Office systems.
Communicate goals; motivate and guide team members towards goal accomplishment.
