What's the OpportunityWe are seeking to recruit a Frontend Engineer, to work on the Daft.ie web application initially, who is up-to-date with modern frontend technologies, has a passion for building intuitive web experiences and will thrive in a high performance, fast paced, ambitious and fun environment.This is more than a technical role, you will be contributing to the overall product development effort.
Your experience will inform our engineering process and decisions when building new features.You'll be part of one of our multi-functional product delivery teams and will work closely with designers, product owners, quality engineers, and multi-disciplined developers.What will I be doingFrontend Engineers are a crucial part of the Distilled Product Delivery Teams.
Working closely with the design team, we implement responsive user interfaces, using modern libraries and frameworks, such as React, TypeScript and NextJS.As a Frontend Engineer at Distilled you will:Build and maintain features for the Daft platform and related productsBuild efficient and reusable frontend systems for the Distilled platformsEnjoy building web interfaces that have intuitive usabilityAlways strive to ensure our codebase is clean, scalable and secureBe an advocate for coding standards within the teamKeep abreast of new technologies and techniques in frontend developmentWhat skills and experience do I need5 years demonstrated ability in a similar roleExcellent knowledge of JavaScriptProfessional Experience with React, with ES6 / TypescriptSolid foundation in HTML and CSS, experience building components from scratchExperience working with RESTful APIsExperience developing fully responsive web pages using mobile first techniquesTo be comfortable working on your own initiative and handling your time effectivelyComfortable working and collaborating with team membersAdvantage if you haveExperience working in a Scrum teamGood understanding and experience with NodeJSWeb app performance experienceTesting experience (Unit/Integration)JS bundler experience (webpack)Experience with any of the below: Typescript, NextJS, Cypress, Styled Components, StorybookWhat's it like to work hereYou will have the opportunity to work with one of Ireland's fastest growing Internet companies.
