Main purpose of the role:
To ensure the Fruit and Veg Department operates efficiently and effectively at all times and provides our customers with excellent quality products and customer service.
The ideal candidate will have/be: Minimum 1 year experience as a Sales Assistant with experience in Fresh Food Departments and orderingExcellent communication skillsA true passion for the food industry and be creative and innovative with the fresh offeringThe ability to inspire, lead and motivate employeesThe ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task under pressureMain duties: Actively live SuperValu brand-values i.e.
Genuine, Passion for Food, Vibrant, Committed, Innovative and ImaginativeAchieve sales targets and margins as agreed with the store managerAdhere to weekly stocktaking proceduresEnsure purchasing of stock is carried out in accordance with procedures and control of stock rotation, so that the quality and freshness of the goods is of the highest orderParticipate in quality review meetings and ensure actions resulting from same are carried outMinimise waste and shrink in the departmentMerchandise and present the department to the highest standard at all timesBring new ideas to the department through regular research and benchmarking against competitorsDeal with all customer queries efficiently, professionally and consistent with store policyEngage with new initiatives and embrace new ways of workingAbout the locality: This is a full-time permanent position, candidates must be available midweek and weekends.Retail/Sales experience is required.
