We are looking for an experienced and reliable Catering Assistants, in our Parnell Road Nursing Home , to provide excellent standards of cleaning for our clients.

Job Summary : Promote effective communication with all departments within the Home.
Adhere to all Carechoice policies, procedures and standards.
Attend and participate in staff meetings as required.
Report to the appropriate nurse or Clinical Nurse Manager any resident related information.
Support colleagues and work co-operatively to promote good team morale within the Home.
Actively work to maintain the standards set by Nursing Home.
Maintain a secure and safe environment.
Main Duties and Responsibilities Provide cover for Reception including o Answering phone calls, assisting callers and transferring calls through to the correct floor/person o Monitoring main door and providing access and egress to appropriate individuals and groups, including family members of residents o Ensuring that no residents are permitted to leave the building without being accompanied by an authorised person e.g.
member of staff, family member, other authorised person. Ensuring that residents are signed in and out upon entering or leaving the building.
o Dealing with and assisting as appropriate ambulance crews, visiting doctors, other authorised medical professionals and funeral home staff, and directing them appropriately.
Infection Control and Hygiene o Ensure personal hygiene and cleanliness is at a high standard at all times o Bringing tea trolleys down from each floor and putting dirty items into the dishwasher. Set and start appropriate dishwasher programme ensuring adequate cleaning product is in the dishwasher for every cycle.
o Gathering dirty items of clothing and linen from each floor. Bringing dirty items to the Laundry using designated entrance. Putting clothing/linen into washing machines and starting wash cycle ensuring appropriate cleaning product is in the washing machines.
o Gathering and disposing of rubbish/garbage appropriately from each floor.
o Daily inspection and cleaning of refuse bins and waste collection area o Ensure that all clinical waste bins are locked at all times.
Supplies o Stocking up an any equipment and supplies necessary on each floor before the day staff arrive including incontinence wear, items for personal care and hygiene, etc.
Security o Securing all floors individually and the entire premises including all doors and windows.
o Regular patrolling of each floor throughout the night including areas of entrance and egress on the ground floor and through the underground car park.
o Escorting any undesirable individuals from the premises. Night Porters are required to immediately contact An Garda Siochana and seek their assistance in such cases.
o Reporting any other concerns immediately to the appropriate authorities including An Garda Siochana when that is appropriate. Health and Safety o Familiarise self with the Home's Safety Statement.
o Immediately report any equipment or work area that does not conform to health and safety guidelines.
o Adhere strictly to all health and safety rules, regulations and guidelines in operation in the Home. o Ensure Reception area and corridors are kept clear of obstruction including equipment, stock items, garbage, etc.
o Liaise with fire brigade personnel in incidents where they are required to attend the premises.
o Night Porters must wear all PPE and clothing provided by the Company including safety shoes, gloves, and polo shirts. o Attend and participate fully in all mandatory training including manual handling, fire safety, infection control, elder abuse/safeguarding, and any other training deemed appropriate by the Director of Nursing.
