Come join Analog Devices (ADI) – a place where Innovation meets Impact. For more than 55 years, Analog Devices has been inventing new breakthrough technologies that transform lives. At ADI, you will work alongside the brightest minds to collaborate on solving complex problems that matter, from autonomous vehicles, drones, and factories to augmented reality and remote healthcare.
ADI fosters a culture that focuses on employees through beneficial programs, aligned goals, continuous learning opportunities, and practices that create a more sustainable future.
The External Foundry Team enables ADI's design teams/business units to develop and introduce new product designs by providing the technical interface to the third-party Foundry fabrication facilities (fabs) that manufacture ADI products on a range of leading-edge proprietary processes. Foundry fabs manufacture integrated circuits on silicon wafers in dedicated cleanrooms. ADI works with such fabs located in Asia, Europe, and the US. The External Foundry Team is seeking a motivated graduate Foundry Engineer to add to our expanding team that is located at ADI's Limerick site.
To gain experience, the successful candidate will participate in a graduate rotation program in their first few months, working in several different functional areas, such as Quality, Reliability, and Fabrication in the Limerick facility. They will then become an integral part of the External Foundry Team, working with Foundry engineers and with many other teams involved in New Product Introduction, located in both Limerick and other ADI sites across the globe.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Build and maintain professional relationships with all ADI and Foundry technical personnel, relaying and interpreting information between ADI/Foundry. Develop expertise in a range of processes used by ADI at their key Foundry partners. Assume responsibility for specific processes at a foundry – developing expertise in the technology and acting as a key technical contact, dealing with all technical issues on those processes. Develop knowledge of semiconductor processing, including diffusion, lithography, etching, deposition, etc. Develop expertise in semiconductor devices, including CMOS, Bipolars, JFETS, resistors, and capacitors. Develop understanding of silicon device layout, design rules, and process design kits. Develop knowledge of silicon device performance/process integration issues. Develop understanding of integrated circuit functionality and device characterization. Perform data analysis using statistical tools such as Excel, Klarity, and Excensio. Work in a team alongside other Foundry engineers. Interfacing with other groups within ADI who are involved in the introduction of products. Minimum qualifications: Degree in Physics or Electronic Engineering. Problem Solving/Critical Thinking skills. Good communication/interpersonal/teamwork skills. Interest in semiconductor manufacturing and device physics. MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Good at multitasking with attention to detail. Proficient in technical writing, project management, and independent research. Preferred qualifications: Statistical/Data Analysis skills. Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing and device physics. Knowledge of Matlab or Python. For positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. As such, applicants for this position – except US Citizens, US Permanent Residents, and protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) – may have to go through an export licensing review process.
