Email: ****** Closing Date: 10am Wednesday 5th February 2025 via Rezoomo. Location of Post The Nutrition & Dietetic department, Galway University Hospitals, is a growing team of Clinical Specialist, senior and basic grade dietitians.
Working as a unified team across two sites, we have a structured basic grade rotation in place and we are a Practice Education site for the University of Limerick. GUH dietitians work across University Hospital Galway and Merlin Park University Hospital, and across a variety of teams i.e paediatrics, neonatology, diabetes, bariatrics, haematology / medical oncology / radiation oncology, critical care, renal, surgical and medical teams.
GUH Nutrition & Dietetic Department is a friendly and welcoming department that offers relevant training opportunities appropriate to role, and supports and encourages CPD. The department operates flexible hours that helps promote a positive work life balance.
We also facilitate internal re-assignment, according to local departmental guidelines. Current vacancies include: G9260 Adult Haematology Oncology 1wte vacancy.

The post holder will be part of a team of 3 senior dietitians working in Haematology / Oncology in providing a dietetic service to patients attending GUH.
G8827 Adult Diabetes Ambulatory Care: 1wte vacancy – this is a great opportunity to work with an enthusiastic Multidisciplinary Team in the largest diabetes centre in the HSE West & North West region.
The post holder will work with patients with Type 1 Diabetes on MDI and hybrid closed loop insulin pumps, newly diagnosed patients with type 1 diabetes and complex patients with type 2 diabetes.
There is also a transition and young adult clinic.
The centre has a large insulin pump cohort and is a DAFNE centre.
DAFNE training will be provided if needed.
The post holder will work alongside a well-established multi-disciplinary team where there is a strong culture of education, teamwork and learning.
There are many opportunities to upskill here with weekly education seminars, support from experienced dietetic staff and a culture of learning in the unit.
This post is ideal for someone who has an interest in Diabetes and wants to consolidate their learning in this speciality within a dynamic and supportive team.
