About the Role! We have an exciting opportunity to join our Team in Leprino Foods EU. We are a food manufacturing plant at Junction 17 Laois. We are a global Mozzarella supplier and Our HQ is in Denver Colorado. The team onsite of 130 employees work 24/7 a typical shift is 2 days 7am - 7pm, 2 nights 7pm to 7am followed by 4 days off. Our culture is collaborative and inclusive, it is a fast paced role. Full training will be provided, previous experience would benefit however it is not essential. Health & Safety Understand, observe and ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies and procedures including compliance with PSOPs, Risk Assessments and PPE adherence Participate in and ensure that safety work place inspections and safety checks are carried out in accordance with schedule and standards. Ensure no chemical leaks during CIP , if leaks are noted escalate when required Ensure all safety devices are in place and functioning properly and where any non-conformances occur, ensure these are reported immediately to the production supervisor Report Near misses and accidents promptly and support thorough investigation to ensure that root causes are identified and eliminated through preventative measures Report any damage to company property as they arise Provide improvement ideas through SIRs Contribute to the elimination of hazards in the workplace Attend Health and Safety meetings/forums as required Support and promote the development of an effective and pro-active no harm safety culture on site Ensure all operations within the Production function are carried out to meet the requirements of relevant Health and Safety legislation. Environmental Minimise waste generation Minimise discharge to drain Be proactive around energy saving Ensure that accidental discharges to drain are immediately reported, spillage investigation reports are completed and remedial action is speedily implemented. Understand the Environmental targets and objectives for the department and be proactive in influencing these in a positive manner. Separate and dispose of waste in accordance with recycling requirements Operations To safely operate automated controlled process and packing equipment in accordance with documented PSOPs understanding both the cheese science and process operation To effectively clean all equipment using a combination of automated CIP processes and manual cleaning and sanitisation methods Comply fully with all the PSOPs associated with the specific unit of operation Perform the pre-start and quality checks identified by both health and safety and asset care / maintenance issues in order to support the engineering team Perform appropriate on-line quality checks including testing on in-line testing equipment with remedial adjustments and escalation Monitor all process controls points on a continuous basis taking appropriate action as necessary to optimise and maintain product specification whilst maximising line efficiencies and minimising waste. Accurately recording usage, quality and efficiency data to enable tracking of plant performance vs targets and budget and deliver planned production at the required quality. Ensure timely and accurate records are maintained and that all operational checks are carried out and documented Support the maintenance team to deliver best practice asset care through correct operation of process equipment, trouble shooting and problem solving, completion of Short Interval Control, and early escalation and resolution of potential issues. Escalate any process or quality issue that cannot be adequately addressed by changes within normal operating parameters Actively support problem solving, post failure analysis and continuous improvement initiatives in safety, quality, operational efficiency and product improvement. Inform maintenance of potential and actual mechanical problems and follow through to completion to avoid and minimise downtime Carry out 5S audits and maintain the area to the agreed 5S standard Work on continuous improvement projects Training of other Production Specialists Communication Contribute to effective team handover by relaying all information relevant to the days activity to the next shift Actively participate in daily team meetings to support effective communication across the site Maintain communication with QA staff and the Shift Manager regarding testing requirements and standards. Understand upstream and downstream processes to ensure timely and effective communication on any implications that may affect quality, safety or operations efficiency Observe, act and immediately report any issues that may pose a threat to a safe working environment Be part of the development of PSOPs Participate in Gemba and Kaizen events Other Responsibilities Ensure the role is performed with due regard for the requirements of the Company Equal Opportunities Policy and the Bullying and Harassment Policy.
