Job Description: The position carries a specific skill set to support Zoetis local market colleagues and Zoetis customers with veterinary technical product training, product challenges and opportunity evaluation, KOL support and CSuite meetings supporting the Embrex Inovoject, biological portfolio and any Zoetis products within the hatchery customer. This position provides regional technical and biological support for Zoetis poultry vaccine application and hatchery automation business in broiler, broiler/breeder, turkey, and layer hatcheries globally. The key responsibility for this position is to be competent in the qualitative assessments of all aspects of the Zoetis Poultry Health portfolio and Embrex Inovoject systems, related processes and hatchery environments. The candidate will need to posses the ability to communicate in group settings to effectively train internal and external personnel regarding operation of the Inovoject systems, embryology, incubation and immunology. Additionally, the candidate needs to be competent in teaching and/or discussing interactive factors such as embryo development, microbial challenges and hatchery logistics to optimize Embrex Inovoject and the Zoetis biological portfolio. The role requires applied biological knowledge of embryonic development, incubation, microbiology, and an understanding of commercial poultry operations and the responsibility of using this knowledge to assist customers (potential & existing) with their hatchery management and with training new Technical Service Representatives of the local Zoetis entities. Responsibility Examples Assist and consult at hatcheries in all markets as needed to develop stronger relationships and position of leadership in the hatchery industry Assist or oversee product trials Provide veterinary technical guidance to assist in successful utilization and usage of the Zoetis products. Support the development, testing and launch of new products, devices, components and procedures designed to improve the operation, reliability or convenience of all systems Provide regular feedback of customer derived information evaluating our services and other pertinent client/vendor information to management Provide feedback and assistance to all other supporting groups regarding improvements to existing equipment and on performance of new equipment models Other duties as assigned Key interactions of the Veterinary Technical Manager is primarily with poultry hatchery customers (operators, quality assurance, hatchery management, live production, veterinarian). Internally, the primary interactions are with Zoetis local market commercial and technical colleagues as well as Global Hatchery team. Functionally, the representative must work internally within a matrix organization involving the Accounts Management team, Operations, Veterinary Services and Engineering. Additionally, interactions may include personnel from VMRD, and Diagnostics. Education & Experience: Minimum veterinary or PhD degree in poultry science. A veterinarian with a Master in Avian Medicine or Poultry Health or similar is a plus. 5 or more years' experience working with hatchery management with demonstrated success in improvement in efficiency a plus Excellent interpersonal abilities and organizational skills Ability to travel as needed to customer locations and/or cluster/market offices Good understanding of the chicken embryo development and the industrial incubation factors that impact it. Good understanding of poultry immunology and health Good understanding of the poultry hatchery setup and processes Ability to analyze and determine hatchery management improvement opportunities on single stage or multi stages configurations. Capable to perform egg residue analysis and use the information for embryo diagnosis. Technical Skills: Strong Leadership Skills with experience in leading without authority Established Coaching and Teaching Skills Proficient organizational skills Self-motivator and self-starter Strong critical thinking problem solving, judgment, and initiative Excellent communication skills are necessary to interact directly with multiple levels of customer management Ability to communicate even when English is not the local language using alternative means such body language, drawings, etc. Physical requirements: Work environment is an industrial manufacturing facility and/or general office space Position may require travel to Customer locations including but not limited to: Commercial Broiler/Breeder, Layer, Grow-Out facilities and Egg-Based Vaccine Manufacturing Facilities Non-standard hours/shifts and/or weekends work may be required The ability to travel 40-60% to facilitate customer related business activities required around the globe Heat and Humidity above average is common Lift more than 25 pounds Available for On-Call COMPETENCY DETAIL Multi-tasking : Able to attain results on several projects simultaneously Communication Skills : Ability to communicate clearly and across a complex matrix organization Flexibility: Adapting to changing requirements and priorities Customer Focused : Ability to work with customers and meet all their stated and unstated needs Full time Legal statement as below This job advert indicates the general nature and level of work expected.
