Graduate Environmental Scientist Newbridge

Bord na Móna are seeking a Graduate Environmental Scientist to join our team. The successful candidate will assist with the delivery of Planning Applications including co-ordination of baseline environmental / constraints assessments, layout / Infrastructure design, Environmental Impact Assessment Reports and Appropriate Assessments for a variety of renewable energy infrastructure projects.
Main Duties and Responsibilities: Assist the Planning Team with the preparation / co-ordination of planning and environmental assessment requirements for Renewable Energy development projects up to the point of consenting decision and any subsequent challenges to same.Assist with the co-ordination of all baseline environmental surveys and constraints assessments required to input into the design process and to inform the Environmental Impact Assessment and Appropriate Assessments.Assist with and input into feasibility and / or options assessment studies as required during the project design phase.Assist with the review of environmental survey programs.Provide project management and co-ordination support to the planning team.Attend project meetings to record and follow-up on agreed actions and to gather and summarise the outputs of project work streams.Assist with the update of project specific documentation e.g. project programmes, financial tracking, risk registers, issues / action logs as required.Assist Project Managers, and the Stakeholder and Advocacy team as required, with the development of materials for consultation with local communities and other relevant stakeholders.Ensure that all works carried out under your remit complies with Bord na Móna's Health & Safety and Environmental policies and all relevant EU and National policies and statutory requirements.All employees are expected to co-operate fully with all provisions taken by the company for ensuring the Health, Safety and Welfare of co-employees and members of the public using the premises.Proactively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure delivery of own, and the wider team's, objectives.The Person: The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge and attributes:
Third Level Qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or equivalent.Graduate or Internship experience preferable.Knowledge/experience of Renewable Energy, Environmental Impact Assessment and Appropriate Assessment desirable.Proficient in MS Office, in particular MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.Good knowledge / proficiency in GIS desirable but not essential.Good knowledge / proficiency in online sharing platforms such as SharePoint, Sharefile, etc. is a distinct advantage.Ability to work effectively and efficiently, both individually and as part of a team.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.The selection process for this role will include candidate screening from application.
