The Opportunity Arup's Ground Engineering team in Ireland includes geotechnical engineers, engineering geologists, hydrogeologists, and GIS specialists, supported by our global expertise across all disciplines. We provide innovative ground engineering solutions for all types of projects and clients, both within Ireland and internationally, adding value through technical excellence, creative thinking, and understanding of our client's long-term objectives.
We currently have a requirement for a graduate engineering geologist with a passion for geotechnics to join our Ground Engineering Team. We are seeking a candidate that can deliver innovative solutions which provide value to our clients, while meeting the highest technical standards. The candidate should also possess excellent communication skills and the ability to understand client requirements. This is a permanent role and offers the successful candidate long-term opportunities for career development.
As a Graduate Geologist at Arup, you will: Contribute to a wide variety of projects, both in Ireland and overseas, working in both field and office-based work under the supervision of senior staff.Conduct geo-hazard assessments, desk studies, and site walkovers including the preparation of conceptual ground models.Plan, supervise, and report on ground investigations.Prepare specifications and reports.Communicate design solutions and advice to a range of technical and non-technical audiences.Understand trends and best practices in the ground engineering industry and contribute to geological research.Participate in local Professional Associations and work towards professional qualifications.Communicate effectively in written and verbal presentation formats.Engage in possible short-term assignments within Ireland and overseas.Does this role inspire you? We're looking for graduates who are currently pursuing a minimum of an honours bachelor's degree in Geology or equivalent. A post-graduate qualification in Engineering Geology, GIS, Geomatics, or equivalent is an advantage.
