Location: Dublin / Cork / Castlebar / Limerick Position: Permanent, Full-Time Key Responsibilities: Produce 2D geotechnical models and drawings using geotechnical design software for routine design problems (slope stability, retaining wall design, settlement/movement impact assessment etc.).Completing design calculations for foundations and applying specific methods appropriate to in-situ ground conditions.Assist in producing technical documents including desk studies, ground investigation reports (GIRs), geotechnical design reports (GDRs), specifications.Designing ground investigation campaigns and procurement documentation and drawings;Supervising ground investigations in the field and other geotechnical related aspects of construction.Scheduling laboratory tests on collected samples and reviewing results/borehole logs.ProfileKnowledge, Skills and Experience: Minimum 2.1 Bachelor Degree or Masters in Civil Engineering, Geology or similar related subject.Enthusiasm for a career in ground engineering.Can communicate effectively with clients, colleagues and outside agencies and build effective working relationships, always aiming to exceed client expectations.Adheres to all Codes of Practice, Design Standards and Health and Safety Regulations.Is committed to Continued Professional Development.The ability to work as part of a team.Problem solving and organisational skills.Member of Engineers Ireland or other relevant professional body.Awareness of types of engineering contracts.Knowledge of BIM and an understanding of core concepts and principles.Experience in the field of geotechnical works.Awareness of the principles of Eurocodes in geotechnical design.Job locationEurope, Ireland
