OBJECTIVES OF POSITION: Support Test Engineering functions in a high-volume production environmentMaximize throughput with minimum downtimeFailure analysis of fallout & drive line improvementsDevelop key Test Engineering procedures and modelsDevelop technical expertise of the test engineering group for specific productsRepresent test engineering department during customer visits/presentationsDebug test-related issues and ensure stability of all testsWork on cross-site & cross-functional projectsDocumentation related to test issuesRESPONSIBILITIES: Support New Product IntroductionProvide DFT input to customersProduce capacity plans for test equipmentLiaise with equipment suppliers and perform machine acceptance testsSpecify, install, and support production test equipment, including training relevant personnelEnsure accurate Yields are available for test processes and drive continuous improvementEnsure work practices, procedures, and equipment adhere to audit requirementsEnhance maintenance techniques to minimize downtimeEvaluate equipment technology advances for quality and efficiencyLiaise with other departments on machine/process operation, safety, and environmentAttend customer visits and present on test approach and improvementsMaintenance procedures, methods, and reviews of Spares databaseQuality: Assure ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirementsHealth & Safety: Ensure compliance with Health & Safety Legislation and RegulationsMEASUREMENTS: Completion of tasks/projectsMeasurement of process in terms of uptime, audits & customer targetsPerformance improvements in the test processDevelopment of proceduresTraining plan available for all members of dept.Completion of in-house training programsMaintaining appropriate spares levels with attention to critical itemsPERSONNEL SPECIFICATIONS ESSENTIAL: NFQ Level 7 Degree/Diploma in Engineering or equivalent with job-related experienceCommunication skills, teamwork, ability to work to deadlinesKnowledge of analog and digital electronics, ICT, and Functional test equipment/processesGood problem-solving techniqueDESIRABLE: Test Development backgroundFamiliarity with manufacturing/testing in a medical (FDA) environment
