About the Technical Team Our Technical team is growing rapidly and plays a key role in supporting our clients' innovation journey. We work directly with clients to prepare and submit research and development (R&D) claims, helping businesses gain the support they need to continue innovating.
The Technical team translates complex technical conversations into clear, concise documentation, collaborates with both technical and financial teams, and manages R&D claims from start to finish. If you are a graduate in Engineering, Software Engineering, Physics, Biomedical Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, or any related scientific or engineering discipline, we want to hear from you.
About the Role Are you a recent graduate looking to launch your career in consulting? Our R&D Technical Consultant position offers a unique opportunity to learn on the job while helping companies unlock financial support for their innovative projects. This role involves identifying and assessing R&D projects, preparing supporting technical documentation, and managing claims from start to finish.
You'll gain hands-on experience working with companies & clients across various sectors, including engineering, manufacturing, construction, software development, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, healthcare, agriculture, and energy. We fully support your training and continuous professional development, helping you grow within our team and the professional services industry.
We're Seeking Someone With: A degree in Engineering, Software Engineering, Physics, Biomedical Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, Scientific Engineering, or a related field. An interest in learning about the R&D processes. Excellent written communication skills and the ability to translate technical discussions into concise, clear reports. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail. A passion for innovation and a desire to support the R&D activities of a variety of businesses. Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with technical professionals and a team-oriented mindset. A proactive attitude, with the ability to work autonomously when needed In This Role, You'll: Identify qualifying R&D projects by participating in technical discussions with clients in your specialist area, which may include engineering, software development, biomedical sciences, or other relevant disciplines based on your background. Perform technical assessments of projects to ensure they meet R&D criteria. Prepare technical reports and documentation that summarize the R&D work in a way that's accessible to others. Work closely with clients' technical and financial teams to understand the value of the claim in line with R&D Relief Guidelines. Manage R&D claims through to completion, maintaining client information in our CRM system. Assist clients with R&D claims in the event of any follow-up questions from HMRC.
