Ground Services Manager Ground Services Manager required at a busy airport in the West of Ireland. Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will manage all ground handling activities, such as Ramp Services, Workshop, and Fuel Management, ensuring compliance with aviation regulations at all times.
Responsibilities: Manage ramp activities (marshalling aircraft, loading/unloading, baggage handling, passenger handling, aircraft refueling, and de-icing).Ensure the safe turnaround of aircraft in accordance with quality, efficiency, safety, legal, and environmental objectives.Oversee the procurement, management, and maintenance of vehicles and ground support equipment ensuring availability when required.Manage winter operations, overseeing runway de-icing and snow clearance of the airside areas, ensuring equipment is serviceable and stocks of aircraft de-icing fluids and runway de-icing fluids are available.Work collaboratively with other key business stakeholders to develop and implement sustainability initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of ground operations, such as alternative fuel programmes, energy-efficient technologies, and waste reduction strategies.Ensure that all required manuals, documents, and records are completed and maintained in accordance with company/statutory/legal requirements and that all associated administration activities are completed in a timely manner in accordance with company or other policies.Represent Ground Services in internal and external regulatory audits.Foster a work environment that focuses on safety, service, teamwork, and flexibility.Ensure efficient rostering of staff and monitor hours.Ensure staff are appropriately trained and competent to carry out the duties to a high standard ensuring safety, customer service, and efficiency, and that training records are maintained.Review and develop safe working procedures for all aspects of ground services and ensure that these are documented in the safety management system.Ensure that all accidents and incidents are fully investigated, and corrective action is taken to prevent reoccurrence, and that a complete accident report is filled out.Manage and control departmental expenditures/finance within established budgets and ensure that all financial transactions are completed in accordance with company policy.Monitor, measure, and report on operational issues and opportunities relating to the department.Emergency planning and contingency plans.Requirements A qualification in Aeronautical / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with good technical and mechanical skills.At least 5 years relevant experience in Airport ground operations or equivalent.Knowledge of Aviation regulations, in particular EASA 139/2014 and Jig Standards.Previous experience in people management - leading, developing, and motivating a team.Proficiency in IT Skills.Project management and implementation experience.For a confidential discussion and more information on the role, please contact Davin Ferguson. ****** 071 9140251
