Group Corporate Accountant

Reporting to the Director of Corporate Accounting, the intention of this role is to ensure the deliveryof high-quality financial reporting and control of the corporate entities and to focus on continuous improvement in the processes. The Corporate Accounting team works closely with all key Group departments and engages with reporting units in Europe, the US and Latin America.
The role will focus on the following primary areas;
1. Financial Control
• Assistance with financial control and financial reporting of corporate entities;
o Head Office Companies (contains payroll, facilities, marketing and professional fees, intercompany recharging and intercompany management fees).
o Financing and Investment Holding Companies – review of loan agreements and preparation of interest calculations and intercompany recharges
o Preparation of VAT returns
o Provision of support to Group Tax on corporate tax related matters
o Preparation of quarterly Central Bank returns and control reports
2. Management Reporting
• Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts
• Assistance in budgeting and forecasting
• Assistance in preparation of monthly reporting packs for Director of Corporate Accounting and Corporate Controller with variance analysis of costs against budget and prior year
3. Statutory Reporting
• Preparation of statutory accounts for all corporate entities
• One of the key points of contact for internal and external audit queries for the corporate entities
4. Systems and process improvements
• Continuation of work in streamlining existing processes and creating efficient workflows
The candidate should:
• be a qualified accountant (recently qualified or with 1-2 years post qualification).
• have strong attention to detail to ensure completeness and accuracy of information
• ability to work on own initiative
• ability to work under pressure and meet challenging deadlines
• Ability to build effective working relationships with all levels of the business
• have excellent computer skills – Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerPoint
• have excellent organisational and communication skills
• experience in the preparation of statutory accounts and FRS 101 would be an advantage
