The Role The newly created Group Financial Controller ('GFC') role is responsible for the overall financial governance and control over the group; owns and runs the month end closing and reporting process; the statutory audit of the group and the various subsidiary companies; and the budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with the rest of the finance teams and the business.
The GFC will continue developing the dedicated UK&I and BeNe finance teams to the levels required by the Finance strategy and objectives, working with the wider finance team and the business.
Key Responsibilities Managing the monthly financial closing process, organising the various business reviews, and specifically reviewing cost centres. Producing/reviewing the various automated KPI reports. Providing P&Ls by Record Centre / other business units, enabling the responsible managers to understand and run their business units better. Drafting the Board report for review and finalisation by the Group FD and Group CFO. Producing and ensuring timely submission of various reporting packages to the investors and the lenders. Continue striving for process improvements and shortening of the financial reporting cycle. Responsibility for planning and executing the external audit cycle. Ownership of the financial budget and the relevant forecasts; working in collaboration with the Finance Business Partners and the rest of the team to produce the outcome on a timely manner. Mentor, coach, and develop finance team members to foster a high performing team. Maintaining the Group's strategy model and providing actuals on a quarterly basis. Provide support to the country controllers and the Group FD with the various tax returns. Ad hoc queries and tasks by the Group FD and Senior Finance leaders. Candidate Requirements Experience in running best in class financial close and reporting processes across multiple jurisdictions and group structures. Experience in leading and developing sizeable teams. Experience in managing external group audits. Strong IFRS knowledge. Experience of producing business insight enabling stakeholders to take important decisions. Confidence to present own analysis to key stakeholders with a mix of finance and non-finance backgrounds, tailoring delivery to the audience. Structured individual, focused on process and deadlines. Independent thinker, able to manage, create and prioritise own workload. Highly numerate with excellent attention to detail. Strong command of Excel. Qualified Accountant. Previous experience as an Audit Manager within a large corporate environment. Good working knowledge of MS Dynamics F&O and Adaptive Insights.
