Head of Sustainability - Energy sector - Dublin On behalf of our client, a leader in transforming the power system for future generations, we are seeking an experienced Head of Sustainability to join their team.

Job Purpose This role focuses on driving sustainability excellence across the organization.
The Head of Sustainability will lead the development and execution of the sustainability strategy, ensuring alignment with the overall business strategy.
The successful candidate will embed sustainability principles into the organization's culture, strategic planning, and decision-making processes.
The role also includes overseeing performance monitoring, reporting, and external sustainability disclosures, ensuring targets are meaningful, measurable, and ambitious.
Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, leadership exposure, and cross-functional teamwork are central to this position.
Key Responsibilities Lead the development and execution of the organization's Sustainability Strategy, focusing on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) objectives and targets.Develop and implement robust ESG monitoring and reporting frameworks, ensuring compliance with current and emerging regulations.Oversee the production of annual Sustainability and ESG reports.Review business initiatives to ensure alignment with sustainability goals.Embed sustainability into strategic and operational decision-making processes.Ensure sustainability issues are effectively communicated to senior leadership teams.Manage the sustainability budget, ensuring cost-effective procurement and delivery of services.Drive excellence in sustainability performance reporting for internal stakeholders and external audiences, including Board-level updates.Represent the organization externally at conferences and industry events as required.Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Proven experience in developing and implementing ESG strategies and sustainability programmes.Strong understanding of ESG principles, reporting frameworks, and disclosure requirements.Experience aligning sustainability initiatives with organizational strategy.Strong strategic and operational thinking capabilities, with experience implementing cross-functional solutions.Exceptional planning, organizational, and process management skills.Proven ability to influence stakeholders, build strong relationships, and provide constructive challenge.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex information for diverse audiences.Degree qualification or relevant professional certification in a related discipline.Experience in the energy sector or a regulated environment is advantageous but not essential.
