The Ardilaun Hotel is currently seeking a passionate and innovative Head Chef to lead our culinary team.
As the Head Chef you will play a pivotal role in shaping our culinary identity and elevating our dining experiences.
You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen operation, including menu development, food quality, kitchen efficiency, staff management, and maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and safety.About the Hotel:Formerly a country mansion, the 4* Ardilaun Hotel boasts 123 luxury bedrooms with a superb conference center, wedding venue and leisure club facilities.
It is independently owned and operated by the Ryan family, having celebrated 61 years in business recently.
Nestled in Galway's suburbs, in a secluded setting in leafy Taylor's Hill just 1km from Galway City, Galway Bay, and Salthill, our hotel provides a serene and secluded setting.
The facilities include the family friendly Camilaun Restaurant, Garden Terrace with canopy for outdoor dining, Blazers Bar and The Ardilaun Bistro.
Guests can also relax in the spacious Garden Lounges for Afternoon Teas.
At The Ardilaun Hotel our mission is to create exceptional experiences and exceed the expectations of every guest we serve.Key Responsibilities:• Develop and execute innovative and seasonal menus that reflect the tastes and preferences of our guests.• Ensure the highest level of food quality, taste, and presentation.• To co-operate and give particular attention to EHO (Environmental Health Officer) visits and inspections and to follow up on inspection reports in ensuring that any issues raised are followed up on.• To monitor and record regular HACCP and food safety data, equipment temperatures, food temperatures according to requirements set out to ensure food safety standards are maintained at all times.• Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of talented chefs and kitchen staff.• Manage kitchen operations, including inventory, ordering, and cost control.• Maintain a safe and clean kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety standards.• Implement company procedure in the event of fire or emergency in the kitchen.• Collaborate with other departments, such as the front of house and event planning, to create seamless guest experiences.• Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques and ingredients into the menu.• Hold regular departmental meetings with the Kitchen staff to ensure consistence in food production.• Promote team work and inter-departmental harmony at all possible times.• Consistently meet and exceed guest expectations, ensuring memorable dining experiences.Qualifications:• Proven experience as a Head Chef.• Strong culinary creativity and passion for creating exceptional dishes.• Excellent leadership and team management skills.• Proficiency in menu planning, costing, and food budget management.• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.We offer a supportive and collaborative work environment, opportunities for growth and advancement, and a benefits package.
