Role Description Position Summary: The Global Head of Clinical Studies will lead and oversee all phase 4 and outcome research clinical research activities within the Medical Affairs organization. This role is pivotal in driving the strategic direction, execution, and management of global clinical studies to provide the necessary data for our pipeline products in collaboration with VMRD as well as our on-market products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical veterinary medicine, clinical research, and regulatory affairs, with a proven track record of leading successful clinical trials Position Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership:Develop and implement the global clinical research strategy in close alignment with VMRD, regulatory affairs, Global Commercial Development (GCD), US and international commercial leadership as well as global markets. - 15% Clinical Study Management:Oversee the planning, prioritization, budgeting execution, and management of all phase 4 and outcomes research/ real world evidence based clinical studies. - 15% Team Leadership:Lead and mentor a global team of clinical research professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. - 15% Regulatory Compliance:Ensure all clinical studies meet regulatory standards and are conducted in accordance with ethical guidelines and protocols. - 10% Stakeholder Collaboration:Collaborate with internal stakeholders within global medical affairs including platform support, KOL management and medical education leads, as well as VMRD, GCD and senior leaders. External stakeholders, including KOLs, research institutions, and industry partners, to drive clinical research initiatives. - 20% Data Analysis and Reporting:Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of clinical data, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of study results. - 10% Budget Management:Develop and manage the clinical research budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to financial targets. Innovation and Improvement:Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in clinical research to drive innovation and continuous improvement. - 10% Resources Managed: Financial Accountability Indicate the Average Budget or Revenue accountability, as applicable. Supervision Indicate the typical number of Colleagues managed. Include direct & indirect reports, matrix responsibility and or additional resources (i.e. contingent workers), as applicable. Education: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree; advanced degree (PhD, MSc) in a related field is preferred. Experience/Requirments: Minimum of 10 years of experience in clinical research, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the veterinary or pharmaceutical industry or academia Proven track record of successfully leading and managing global clinical trials. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional team environment. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
