Mount Juliet Estate, a certified Great Place to Work, is recruiting for an experienced Head Groundsman to lead our exceptional, award-winning Groundskeeping team.
Main Duties: As a Head Groundsman, your responsibilities include both practical and supervisory tasks to ensure the efficient operation of the team and maintenance of the estate:
Lead, motivate, and oversee the Greenskeeping team, including seasonal staff. Assign and monitor daily tasks, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to maintenance schedules. Oversee cutting and maintenance of tees, greens, fairways, rough, and semi-rough areas. Coordinate golf course setup, including changing holes, moving tee markers, and maintaining hazard markings. Monitor and ensure completion of detailed course tasks such as weed control, debris cleanup, and poa eradication. Ensure proper use, maintenance, and cleanliness of all equipment. Reports equipment problems/failures to mechanic immediately and completes correct paper work. Oversee lawn and garden maintenance, including mowing, trimming, edging, and flower bed upkeep. Supervise the maintenance of sidewalks, driveways, cart paths, and parking lots for appearance and safety.Plan and execute seasonal landscaping improvements. Monitor property grounds to ensure a pleasant appearance. Uphold health and safety protocols, ensuring staff compliance with company policies and procedures. Conduct regular safety checks and training sessions. Prepare reports on maintenance activities, staffing schedules, and budget requirements. Liaise with senior management to provide updates and feedback on course conditions. Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards Perform other reasonable job duties as required
Other Job Requirements: Regular and reliable attendance, including weekends as needed. Ability to work outdoor shifts in varying weather conditions. Physical capability to perform tasks involving standing, walking, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Minimum Qualifications: At least 2 years of experience in groundskeeping or a related field, with demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience. A valid driver's license is required. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of golf course maintenance practices, equipment, and irrigation systems is an advantage.
