WHY THIS ROLE IS VALUABLE In this newly created role, the Head of Data and Analytics will play a critical role in driving Ornua's data strategy, overseeing data management, and leveraging analytics to unlock growth opportunities and deliver actionable insights. This is a senior role reporting to the Chief Technology Officer. The role requires a strategic thinker with experience in leading and enabling a high performing team, experience in building strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business and externally, deep technical expertise in data and analytics, and the ability to align data initiatives with business objectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating an enterprise-wide data and analytics (D&A) strategy and managing related operations including data integration and governance.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY Develop and implement a comprehensive data vision and strategy aligned with Ornua's growth strategy.Collaborate with senior leadership to identify business needs and opportunities for leveraging data to gain a competitive advantage.Data GovernanceEstablish and enforce data governance policies to ensure data accuracy, integrity and security.Define and maintain data standards, data quality, and processes.Data ManagementOversee Ornua's data architecture, data models and databases.Ensure effective data integration, data warehousing and data pipeline management.Analytics and InsightsLead the development and implementation of advanced analytics and machine learning models to extract meaningful insights from data.Drive the creation of dashboards and reports that provide actionable intelligence to support decision-making.As a member of the Technology senior leadership team, contribute to driving the strategic direction of the technology function in Ornua.Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of master data professionals, data scientists and analysts.Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture, promoting continuous improvement and professional development.Stakeholder CollaborationCollaborate with cross-functional teams and departments to understand their data needs and deliver solutions that align with business objectives.Serve as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating business requirements into technical solutions.Technology Evaluation and AdoptionStay abreast of emerging technologies in data and analytics and evaluate their potential for adoption within Ornua.Make informed recommendations on tools, platforms, and technologies that enhance Ornua's data and analytics capabilities.Identify and mitigate risks related to data management, security, and compliance.Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and industry standards.KEY REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics).Proven experience in a senior leadership role within data and analytics.Strong understanding of data management, analytics, and business intelligence concepts and familiar with data privacy and security regulations.Experience with data governance frameworks and best practices.Proficiency in data visualization tools, statistical analysis, and machine learning.Knowledge of relevant technologies (e.g. Power BI, Salesforce, ERP system, MS Office, SQL server reporting services, Tableau, Python, R, etc.)ORNUA COMPETENCIES Working Together: Creates and reinforces a collaborative culture within and across the organisation and sets up external strategic alliances/partnerships.Communicative: Communicates in an inspirational way, even in challenging environments and circumstances.Expertise: As a functional subject matter expert or strategic lead, applies effective professional skill, analysis, problem solving, decision making, prioritising, planning, and reviewing.Curiosity: Creates a culture of innovative thinking beyond organisational boundaries.CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS: Saturday 28th September
