About the Role:
We currently have energy projects in the wind, solar, gas and grid infrastructure sectors and want to provide a more strategic focus within the company for the overall energy transition sector. To achieve this, we are seeking a senior executive to lead our energy projects and develop a new division within the NOD group to make a significant contribution to our 2030 strategic goals.
As Head of Energy, you will be experienced in securing and delivering our energy infrastructure projects, particularly in the renewables sector, with a focus on strategic growth and portfolio management. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a team environment, collaborating with other divisions in the NOD Group and wider RSK family.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop a business implementation plan that aligns with our strategic growth ambitions
* Provide strategic direction and leadership across all stages of project delivery, from business development to feasibility studies through to detailed design and implementation.
* Engage with stakeholders, including clients, regulatory bodies, and project partners, to ensure project alignment with requirements and expectations.
* Maintain regular communication on project progress with all internal and external stakeholders.
* Undertake the role of Project Director on energy projects to deliver projects in line with expectations.
* Where required co-ordinate and oversee the preparation of technical reports, designs, calculations, drawings, and specifications.
* We have a long history of successful partnerships with other businesses where technical expertise is not available internally in NOD. You will identify any gaps in our internal services and when required collaborate with our supply chain partners to successfully deliver our projects
* Support the business in preparing tenders and proposals for new opportunities .
* Lead, manage and develop a team, fostering their professional growth and ensuring high-quality work outputs. This will include fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
* To ensure maximum flexibility and to reflect the Company's evolving needs, additional tasks and responsibilities may form part of this role as it evolves.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Proven history of delivering infrastructure projects in a leadership role, preferably in the energy/renewables sector.
* Experience in coordinating design, planning, procurement, and construction delivery. Having experience on both the state body and/or contractor/developer side would be an advantage.
* Whilst not essential having extensive experience in renewable energy projects, particularly in wind energy and/or solar PV would be an advantage.
* Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience in managing and developing engineering teams.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and concisely.
* Ability to recognise and be responsive to client's requirements so as to maintain our preferred partner status with clients.
* Ability to understand and report on the financial performance of projects
* Whilst not essential having experience in business development, securing new clients, and client management would be an advantage
