As our growth continues we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Food Marketing to lead our marketing efforts and drive brand growth in a competitive retail environment. This role is based in our Head Office in Dublin city centre.
The Role: The Head of Food Marketing will be responsible for developing and executing the overall marketing strategy for our food product lines. This role will involve overseeing all aspects of marketing, including brand management, digital marketing, customer engagement, and promotional activities. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the food retail market in Ireland, with a proven track record of driving growth through innovative and effective marketing campaigns.
Primary Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive Food marketing strategy that aligns with the company's goals and objectives.Analyse market trends, customer insights, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for growth.Collaborate with senior leadership and Art Director to define and articulate the brand positioning, messaging, and value proposition.Working with the customer insights team translate insights into actionable marketing initiatives that drive customer satisfaction and sales growth.Brand Management: Oversee the development and execution of brand marketing plans for all food categories.Ensure consistent brand messaging across all channels and customer touchpoints.Lead initiatives to enhance brand awareness, loyalty, and customer engagement.Digital and Traditional Marketing: Work together with the Digital performance marketing team to drive the digital marketing strategy, including social media, SEO/SEM, email marketing, and content creation.Manage traditional marketing efforts, such as print, TV, radio, and outdoor advertising.Work closely with the e-commerce team to optimize online presence and drive sales through digital platforms.Promotions and Campaigns: Plan and execute promotional campaigns to support product launches, seasonal events, and key sales periods.Monitor campaign performance and adjust strategies as needed to maximize ROI.Collaborate with the merchandising and sales teams to ensure promotional activities align with inventory and sales targets.Manage the trade plan to get timely implementation of campaigns in store.Leadership and Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and accountability.Set clear goals and expectations for the team, providing regular feedback and performance evaluations.Ensure continuous learning and development opportunities for the team to keep up with industry trends and best practices.Budget Management: Working with the Finance business partner develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring all activities are cost-effective and within budget.Track and report on the ROI of marketing initiatives, making data-driven decisions to optimize spend.Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, merchandising, sales, and operations, to ensure alignment on marketing objectives.Liaise with external partners, including advertising agencies, media partners, and vendors, to execute marketing plans.Present marketing plans, results, and recommendations to senior leadership and other key stakeholders.Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.A minimum of 10 years of experience in marketing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in the food retail or related retail industry.Strong understanding of the Irish food retail market, including customer behaviour, industry trends, and competitive landscape.Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies that drive business growth.Experience with digital marketing, including social media, e-commerce, and data analytics.Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making.Creative thinking and problem-solving skills, with a passion for innovation in marketing.Strategic thinking and visionLeadership and team developmentStrong brand management expertiseExcellent communication and presentation skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentCustomer-focused with a strong understanding of market trendsComprehensive benefits package including our employee discountOpportunities for professional development and career progressionA dynamic and collaborative work environment focused on innovation and growthDunnes Stores is an equal opportunity employer.
