REED are working with a museum in Dublin who are seeking a Head of Security to join their business for a 6-month temporary role.
This role is ideal for an experienced security candidate with strong management experience.
Hourly pay rate - €28 / €30 per hour - €55,000 / €57,000 salary approx. Employed through REED agency 6-month temporary role 10 direct reports The purpose of the role is to ensure the safety and security of employees, visitors, and property on and off-site storage areas.
This role is crucial in preserving the integrity of the historic building and its contents, while maintaining compliance with fire regulations.
The Security Manager will lead the development and implementation of comprehensive security strategies, oversee daily security operations, and ensure a proactive approach to risk management.
This includes maintaining a visible presence throughout the premises, being on-site, on roster, and on duty to provide effective security and immediate response to any incidents.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesPolicy Development: Create and enforce security policies, protocols, and procedures tailored to the unique needs of a museum and historic site.Data Analysis: Analyse security data to propose improvements, including the integration of new technologies.Staff Management: Oversee the activities of security staff, ensuring they are well-trained in security invigilation and delivering excellent customer service to the public.Access Control: Oversee site access protocols and systems for contractors and visitors, with a focus on protecting valuable collections.Traffic Control: Manage traffic flow on-site, considering the preservation of historic grounds.Record Maintenance: Maintain security records and ensure GDPR compliance.Budget Control: Manage security operation budgets and monitor expenses.Compliance: Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations across all premises.System Operation: Operate and maintain all fire safety systems, ensuring they are appropriate for a historic building.Expert Advice: Provide advice on fire legislation and guidance.Engagement & Learning Department: Collaborate with the Head of Research & Learning and the Visitor Engagement Manager on front-of-house security responsibilities.Warehouse Management: Support the Warehouse Supervisor on security issues and liaise with the Head of Collections and Collections Manager.Access Approval: Monitor and approve access to the off-site warehouse.Safety Committee: Provide expert input to the safety & wellbeing committee.HR Coordination: Coordinate with HR for the recruitment and training of security staff.GDPR Compliance: Manage GDPR matters related to CCTV and other security systems.Project Management: Take on safety and security-related projects as needed.Professional Development: Stay updated with industry knowledge and participate in training opportunities.
