DescriptionBDO Ireland is seeking a Head of Sustainability to collaborate with our Sustainability Partners. We seek an individual who is eager to embrace a fresh challenge within our newly established Sustainability Division. This new addition will play a pivotal role in the establishment and success of the sustainability team.
This role will report directly to the Partner in charge. We seek an individual capable of fostering robust partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. An individual who can actively engage with team members to drive sustainability initiatives across diverse industry sectors as our team extends its influence.

Key Responsibilities & Relationships Taking charge and assuming a technical leadership position in sustainability and ESG consultancy ventures.Overseeing project initiation, business growth, project supervision, and execution, including the creation of presentations, reports, proposals, and bids for client projects.Assisting in the advancement and refinement of our sustainability and ESG service portfolios.Nurturing and fostering robust connections with internal stakeholders throughout the organization.Take full responsibility for engagement delivery, encompassing scoping, programme and team selection, execution, and quality management.Address intricate issues by dissecting and interpreting scientific data and information, applying sound judgment, and articulating findings and ideas effectively.Spearhead innovative approaches to enrich our suite of sustainability services.Collaborate in the development of sustainability roadmaps and the integration of tailored best practices for corporate clientele.Foster collaborations with current and potential clients to optimize their ESG integration strategies and meet stewardship reporting obligations. Skills, Knowledge and ExpertiseEducational Background: A sustainability or environmentally related degree or postgraduate qualification is a prerequisite.8+ years of professional experience in sustainability/ESG (environmental, social, governance issues) either within a corporate framework or in an advisory role.Strong working knowledge of sustainability policy, law, initiatives, and reporting standards.Perform effectively under pressure and within stringent project deadlines.Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and skilled in data analysis techniques.Demonstrate adept organizational abilities with a talent for task prioritization and autonomous work execution.Exhibit proficiency in researching, analysing, and articulating information to senior stakeholders.Showcase superb written and oral communication skills, including expertise in report composition and presentation delivery.Motivated and capable of working independently.
