The Opportunity We are now seeking a Head of Talent Development to join the People & Capability Office. The successful candidate will report directly to the Chief People and Capability Officer. The role will join the People & Capability management team and will proactively contribute to the overall success of EirGrid by developing and enhancing our talent pools at all stages of the employment lifecycle.
As Head of Talent Development, you will be responsible for leading the development of the overall Talent Development Strategy for EirGrid, including talent acquisition, organisational development, talent mobility and learning & development, career/succession planning, leadership development and executive coaching services.
You will lead a team of highly motivated professionals across talent acquisition, organisational development, talent mobility and learning & development. You will be responsible for designing, implementing and managing initiatives that aim to attract, develop and retain skilled employees. You will also lead the identification of skill gaps, developing training programmes and fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
We will look to you to oversee and facilitate EirGrid's talent mobility policy and processes to deliver and align with the organisations talent management strategy and business objectives. As part of your role, you will also work with the Employee Relations & Engagement team to ensure a strong employer brand and employee value proposition as well as champion a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion in EirGrid and ensure talent development strategies, policies and procedures are reflective of same.
The Team The People and Capability Office has overall responsibility for crafting and implementing a vision for organisational transformation, driving initiatives that support EirGrid strategic goals in people management, internal communications, and process enhancement. The People and Capability Office plays a pivotal role in shaping the next phase of EirGrid's evolution, facilitating cultural change, and building and enabling a high-performance environment. From talent development to employee engagement, the People and Capability Office leads the charge in creating a motivated workforce and delivering best-practice HR policies and solutions.
About you Successful candidates will have:
Degree (Level 8) in Human Resources Management or a related field, typically with 8+ years' experience in talent management, organisation development, learning & development or a related HR function.CIPD accreditation is an advantage.Strong understanding of adult learning principles and training methodologies.Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.Strong project management and organisational skills.Ability to think strategically and translate business needs into effective talent development solutions.Experience of leading and influencing high performing teams in changing circumstances.Ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances, demonstrate resilience and be comfortable with uncertainty and ambiguity.
