Vickerstock are working in partnership with a manufacturing firm on the appointment of a Health & Safety Manager.
As the Health & Safety Manager, you will ensure the highest standards of Health and Safety across the business whilst leading the development and implementation of effective H&S policies and procedures.
In your new role: Encourage and support H&S compliance, continuously improving site safety performanceDocument and assess the site's risk profile, creating and executing plans to mitigate risksDevelop and review practical H&S policies and proceduresStay updated with relevant H&S legislationPromote Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) awareness across all teamsIntegrate H&S measures into equipment upgrades and installations.Ensure activities have current risk assessments and suitable training as neededAssess workplace hazards, identifying preventative measures with managementConduct site inspections to ensure compliance with policies and proceduresLead safety audits, analyse findings, and suggest improvementsWork closely with regulatory auditors and inspectorsEnsure all incidents and near-misses are reported, investigated, and addressed promptlyWhat you will need to succeed: 5+ years' experience in a similar Health and Safety roleBSc (Hons) in Occupational H&S, NEBOSH Diploma, or equivalent.Experience with ISO 9001, 14001, 45001Experience with investigations, audits, inspections, compiling reports and making recommendations as appropriateGood communication skills, including written, oral and presentation skillsExcellent IT and numeracy skills (MS Office)Full clean driving licenseDesirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't): Experience within heavy industry (manufacturing/engineering/construction)Internal auditor certificationEnvironmental certificationFor a more detailed brief and a confidential conversation on how Vickerstock can help support you with your next move, get in touch with Sam Geddis, our Health and Safety Specialist today.
