Cowper Care  is seeking applications for the role of Healthcare Assistant at Gascoigne House in Rathmines, Dublin 6.
The purpose of the role is to provide person centred care to our residents that is both efficient and effective.
The Health Care Assistant will: Maximise the independence of the resident.
Provide support to the resident to achieve the highest possible quality of Life.
Afford every opportunity to the resident to live and die with dignity.
Assist in delivering a high standard of holistic care to residents, promoting their equality and dignity at all times Carry out assigned and delegated tasks involving direct care and all activities of daily living under the direction and supervision of the Clinical Nurse Manager e.g.
washing, toileting, dressing, and undressing, dining and all other aspects of daily living Contribute to a range of social, recreational and educational activities aimed at providing a stimulating environment for the residents Maximise the emotional and physical comfort of residents.
Provide particular attention to residents who have limited mobility Participate in care delivery as outlined in the resident's care plan, reporting any changes observed in a resident's physical or mental state.
Residents with limited or restricted mobility must be assisted with the utmost care paying particular attention to resident moving and handling policies.
Contribute to maintaining a safe environment for the residents, staff and visitors.
Immediately report and record any incident or potential incident which may compromise the health and safety of residents or visitors.
Engage in the serving of resident meals with an awareness of their dietary needs and assistance required.
Accompany residents if required when external travel is necessary.
Ensure all resident's living areas and bedrooms are left neat and presentable for residents and visitors.
Checks and reports faulty equipment.
Comply with all policies and procedures published by Cowper Care.  Applicant Requirements Must have fluent written and spoken English Experience in a nursing home environment or relevant experience Desirable Requirement: QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support Knowledge of and experience in dementia care would be a distinct advantage Rewards Attractive remuneration package Employer contribution to pension scheme with a death in service benefit Career advancement opportunities & educational assistance available Subsidized meals Reimbursement for uniform Garda Vetting and Police Clearance will be required for the successful applicant.

This is a Full-time position - 39 hours per week.
