Health & Safety Advisor

Our client, a well-known Cork-based building contractor, requires an experienced Health & Safety Advisor for a project around Cork.
This would be a permanent role with a view to becoming an integral part of the team over the coming years.
The successful candidate will have 4-6 years' experience with an accredited qualification and will work on his own as a safety officer on a construction site.
Key Duties Implement the company's Health and Safety policy, procedures and management systems.Provide advice, guidance, and instruction in all health & safety matters to management, safety representatives and employees (including subcontractors where appropriate).Ensure the overall compliance with Health & Safety statutory provisions & legislation.Ensure good safety practices are managed and maintained.Deliver Health & Safety training programs such as inductions for new employees or subcontractors working on site.Coordinate the review and development of task-specific HSE documentation such as method statements, risk assessments, safe plan of actions, permit to work.Conduct regular inspections and site audits, report findings to site and senior company management. Strict follow-up is required to ensure that actions are dealt with immediately.Ensure that all incidents are reported, recorded, investigated, and lessons learned communicated. Ensuring notification is given to the Directors, Health & Safety Authority, and Insurers as required.Compile relevant information for inclusion in the Safety File and prepare for handover to the Client at the end of the project.Promote the Company mission of being a healthy and incident- and injury-free workplace.Skills/Experience Required Hold a relevant third-level Qualification in Environmental, Health and Safety.Have a minimum of 4+ years' experience.Hold a full, clean Driving license.Excellent IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office including strong Excel skills.Ability to work on own initiative and exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to demonstrate building strong working relationships & stakeholder management.The right to work in the EU.A strong remuneration and benefits package is on offer for the right candidate.
