Health & Safety Advisor

Our client, an Irish tier 1 building contractor, is looking for a motivated and experienced Health & Safety Advisor with a minimum of 4 years' experience to join the team on a large commercial project in Dublin City.
Job Summary: As a Health & Safety Officer, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining health and safety standards and practices on a construction site. Your role will involve monitoring compliance, conducting risk assessments, providing training, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization. This is a critical position that ensures the well-being of our employees and contractors, as well as compliance with legal and industry regulations.
Responsibilities: Implement and enforce health and safety policies, procedures, and standards on construction sites, ensuring compliance with local and national regulations.Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and recommend corrective measures to mitigate risks and improve safety.Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees, contractors, and subcontractors on health and safety practices, policies, and procedures.Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and prepare comprehensive reports detailing the root causes, recommending corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.Maintain accurate records of health and safety inspections, incidents, training, and other related activities.Review and update risk assessments, method statements, and safety plans to ensure they are relevant and up to date.Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and other stakeholders to promote a culture of safety, including participating in safety meetings and providing guidance on best practices.Stay informed about changes in health and safety legislation and industry practices, and ensure that the organization remains compliant.Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and first aid arrangements.Support the investigation and resolution of health and safety-related concerns raised by employees or external parties.Qualifications and Skills: A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Health and Safety Advisor within the construction industry.A recognized qualification in Occupational Health & Safety.Strong knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation, regulations, and best practices in the construction industry.Familiarity with construction processes, equipment, and materials, and the associated hazards and risks.If you think you are a good fit for this position, please apply with your CV via the link provided.
