About the Role As Health & Safety Manager, you will be the cornerstone of health and safety compliance and culture on-site.
Reporting to regional leadership, you will lead initiatives to identify, assess, and mitigate risks, ensuring the wellbeing of employees and compliance with regulatory and company standards.
This is a strategic role that also demands hands-on involvement, offering the perfect blend of leadership and operational responsibility.
Key Responsibilities Risk Management: Identify, evaluate, and mitigate health and safety risks to ensure a safe working environment.
Compliance Leadership: Maintain all necessary documentation and liaise with regulatory bodies, ensuring full compliance with local and international health and safety laws.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal teams and external organisations, acting as the primary point of contact for H&S matters.
Safety Culture: Develop and promote a proactive safety culture, engaging all levels of staff through training, awareness campaigns, and hands-on guidance.
Incident Investigation: Lead detailed investigations into incidents, identify root causes, and implement effective action plans.
Training and Development: Deliver engaging and informative H&S training modules, ensuring all staff are competent and compliant.
Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development of site-specific strategic plans aligned with regional and group objectives.
Emergency Response: Create and implement robust emergency response procedures to safeguard the site and its personnel.
Key Requirements Educational Background: Higher Diploma (Level 8) or Degree in a relevant discipline.
Professional Accreditation: Chartered Member of IOSH or an equivalent recognised body.
Experience: A minimum of 4 years in a Health & Safety Manager role, with proven success in implementing H&S management systems.
Skills: Strong communication, influencing, and negotiation skills; a natural leader capable of driving change.
Personal Attributes: Hands-on, highly motivated, and resilient, with a passion for continuous improvement.
