Day to Day of the role: Update and implement health and safety policies to foster a strong safety culture.
Serve as the first point of contact for clients regarding Health and Safety.
Lead the adoption of best-in-class Health and Safety standards.
Act as the internal advisor for line managers and site supervisors on health and safety policies, procedures, and legislation.
Create and distribute risk assessments and method statements for workplace safety.
Investigate accidents and incidents, ensuring timely and professional responses.
Develop and implement preventative measures from risk assessments and investigations.
Organise and lead Health and Safety training for employees.
Conduct fire risk assessments and emergency evacuation training.
Oversee safety audits and ensure compliance across the organisation.
Collaborate with the Fleet Manager to ensure vehicle and road safety.
Ensure compliance with tools and PPE requirements.
Prepare and issue toolbox talks and complete various SHEQ reports.
Participate in health and safety disciplinary actions and return-to-work interviews.
Design and deliver Health and Safety Induction programmes.
Monitor and manage employee training compliance.
Provide coaching and mentoring to front-line team members.
Maintain quality control and advise Senior Management on Health and Safety legislation.
Required Skills & Qualifications: Third-level education in a Health and Safety-related discipline.
NEBOSH/IOSH qualification.
Minimum of 5 years experience in a senior SHEQ role.
Experience in the Utilities/Infrastructure/Building Services industries.
Preferably with electrical experience or Health and Safety experience within the electrical industry.
Full clean driving licence.
Train the Trainer certification (desirable).
