Job DescriptionOur client is a well-established contractor with a proven track record in the successful completion of a wide variety of projects.
They are seeking a Health & Safety Officer to join their expanding team to oversee residential construction project sites in Meath/Kildare/Dublin The successful candidate will have the ability to work both independently and within a team, have strong communication skills, and have strong leadership qualities.
For an ambitious candidate this is an ideal opportunity for career development in a growing organisation.Provide support & advice to colleagues, subcontractor personnel and other third parties.Ensure all H&S policies are fully implemented on site.Check to ensure detailed methodologies are in place to cover all works and to include risk assessments and method statements.Ensure the delivery of health and safety inductions for all new employees, check all relevant training is in place and recorded on site.Preparation of site paperwork including Safe Systems of Work, Risk Assessments, Inductions and Toolbox TalksConduct regular inspections as directed in the Safety Management system.Ensure all plant and equipment inspections are up to date in compliance with legal obligations.Communicate to site management in order to close out issuesCarrying out formal site inspections and audits and conduct regular reviews on any corrective action identified.Promote continuous improvement.Deliver Toolbox talks.
Consult with staff on RAMS briefings, lessons learned from audits or investigations, inform staff on permitting requirements and any other H&S information requirements.
Compiling, updating and communication of site Emergency PlansEnsure proper reporting of all accidents, incidents and near misses on site and assist with the investigation and implementation of corrective action to close out on same.Collecting and collating relevant information for inclusion in the Safety File and preparing for handover to the Client at the end of the project.Provide a proactive approach to problem solving and to the various aspects of day-to-day health, safety and environmental management.RequirementsA relevant recognised EHS qualification2+ years' experience in construction safetyExcellent organisational skills to include report writing and records maintenance.Excellent reporting skills and proficiency in Word, Excel and reporting softwareExcellent interpersonal and report writing skillsExtensive knowledge of Irish health and safety legislationAbility to work well in a teamFlexible to travel to sites based in Meath, Kildare & DublinClean Drivers LicensePackageCompetitive Salary Package dependent on candidates experience, company vehicle or vehicle allowance, fuel card, laptop & phone, pension plan.
