Perform Recruitment seeks a Health & Safety Officer to join our client's team in Drogheda.
This full-time, permanent role presents an excellent opportunity to contribute significantly to enhancing health and safety practices within the company.
Our client, a leading company in the food manufacturing sector, is dedicated to upholding the safety and welfare of its workforce while upholding the highest standards of quality across all operations.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a secure work environment, conducting risk assessments, investigating incidents, and providing guidance and training to staff members.
Key Responsibilities: Cultivate and foster a Positive Health & Safety Culture within the organization.
Review, develop, and enhance health and safety policies and procedures in alignment with relevant legislation and industry best practices.
Ensure compliance with legislation to guarantee a safe working environment for all employees.
Conduct and update Risk Assessments and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the site.
Investigate incidents/accidents and implement preventive and corrective measures to avoid recurrence.
Perform regular safety inspections/audits across all areas, driving continuous improvement.
Oversee the implementation of health and safety policies and procedures, taking proactive measures to mitigate risks.
Establish and maintain relationships both internally and externally.
Provide expert advice and instruction on all health and safety matters.
Collaborate with the HR department to deliver on-site health and safety training.
Maintain and update emergency response procedures as necessary.
Mentor and develop teams on health and safety policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
Spearheaded initiatives to promote and uphold best practices in health and safety.
Review contractor documentation to ensure compliance.
Qualifications / Skills / Experience: Third-level qualification in Health & Safety or a related field essential.
Minimum of 2 years' experience in Health & Safety; experience in food manufacturing is advantageous.
Profound understanding of health and safety legislation, regulations, and standards.
Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Strong verbal, written, communication, and IT skills.
Proficient in conducting health and safety investigations.
